A car accident in Jawzjan province’s Qush Tepa district, killed eight people and injured 25 others, according to health officials.

According to Abdul Ghani Samim, Jawzjan’s head of public health, the event occurred at 11 p.m. on 17th May in the Pul-e-Turkmen Qadoq area of Qush Tepa district, according to the Bakhtar state news agency.

Some of the injured, he said, are in critical condition.

The driver of the car was reportedly heading from Qush Tepa district to Sheberghan, Jawzjan province’s center.

Although the cause of the traffic accident has not been revealed, drivers’ disobedience of traffic laws, crumbling roads, speeding, and the lack of traffic signs are the leading causes of traffic accidents in Afghanistan, with victims dying every day.
