A traffic accident in Badghis, Afghanistan’s western province, resulted in one person’s death and another person getting injured, according to the provincial police.

Sadiqullah Sadiqi, the spokesperson for the security department of Badghis, announced on Thursday, through a newsletter, that this incident occurred this morning in the fourth district of “Qal’ah-e-Naw” city.

According to officials, this accident occurred due to a collision between a motorcycle and a Coaster-type motorbike. So far, one person’s death and another’s injury in this incident have been confirmed.

Traffic accidents have increased in various parts of the country in recent months.
Previously, following the overturning of a motorbike in the “Sang-i Buridah” area, the centre of Kapisa province, ten family members were injured.

According to experts, several critical factors contribute to traffic accidents in the country.

Reckless driving, excessive speeding, road defects, and failure to comply with traffic laws are among the primary causes. These issues highlight the urgent need for improved road safety measures and increased awareness about responsible driving practices in Afghanistan.

Addressing these factors is crucial to reducing the frequency and severity of traffic accidents in the country. Promoting responsible driving behaviours, maintaining roads, and enforcing traffic regulations will help to create safer road conditions and prevent unnecessary accidents.
