The collision of a Fielder type vehicle with a tractor-trailer in south-western Afghanistan, Zabul province, kills five people and injures one more, according to the Taliban provincial security officials.

Consistent with the Taliban officials, on Saturday evening, 18th June, the incident occurred in the Noorak area of Qalat, the Zabul’s provincial capital, approximately 323 kilometers far from Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital.

The Taliban’s Director of Information and Culture for the south-western province of Zabul stated that the victims and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital.

According to him, relatives of passengers killed in the incident were rushing at the hospital to claim their friends and families’ bodies.

The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time.

The weather was fine at the time of the accident, according to authorities, and police officials were investigating possible mechanical issues or human fault.

In Afghanistan, violations of traffic laws, terrible highways, negligence, and the lack of traffic signs are the principal causes of road accidents, with people dying every day.
