The Balkh-Jawzjan highway was the scene of a traffic incident involving two cars driving at high speeds, according to local sources in the northern Afghan province of Balkh. Four people were killed and three others were injured in the traffic accident.

The source said that the traffic mishap, which occurred on Wednesday, the 26th of October, in the Bagh Auraq region of Balkh, was the result of a collision between a Hilux-type vehicle and a passenger wagon-type car.

In the traffic accident, three people—a woman, a child, and two men—died. The injured were also taken to the Mazar-e-Sharif city hospital, Abu Ali Sina Balkhi.

The spokesman for the Taliban Police chief in Balkh province, Mohammad Asif Waziri, has also confirmed that this incident happened and resulted in fatalities.

Photos of the collision revealed that both cars have suffered extensive damage, with their wheels rammed inside and their window glass broken, injuring the passengers.

Three people lost their lives in a different traffic accident in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, which also injured another three people.

According to the local media reports, the traffic accident took place on Tuesday, the 25th of October, on the Kandahar-Spin Boldak route in southern Afghanistan.

According to reports, this incident involved a collision between a fielder-type car and a Passo-type car, which caused the Passo car to catch fire and its three occupants to suffer burn injuries.

Road deterioration, irresponsible driving, and disobedience to traffic laws are the main reasons for accidents on the roads, which considerably increases the number of traffic-related deaths in Afghanistan.
