According to the local sources in the northern province of the country, Samangan, a traffic accident has resulted in one fatality and four injuries.

The accident, according to sources happened on Sunday, 26th June when the car crashed on the Kabul – Mazar-e-Sharif highway.

The sources also stated that the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Taliban security officials have not yet commented on the incident, and the media has not been given any additional information.

Traffic accidents rate has recently soared in many areas of Afghanistan, as two of the operational engineers of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat were killed in a traffic accident as they were going back home from work.

Due to its narrowness, lack of traffic signs, congestion, and deteriorating asphalt roads, the Kabul-Balkh route is regarded as being a dangerous route for drivers.

Drivers’ violation of traffic laws, bad roads, speeding, and the absence of traffic signals are the main contributors to the daily fatalities caused by traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
