In a letter to the Taliban group’s council, Mullah Zakir has proposed that the Taliban group should adopt a new strategy for the movement’s internal and external policies.
The 12-point proposal form by Zakir also includes implementation of Islamic law, and improving military strategy and coordination within the group, according to Al-Jazeera.
Meanwhile, the Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid has said the group has not received the proposal by Mullah Zakir so far.
Mujahid has further added that the group will not participate in talks with the foreign governments and will keep its focus on bring back Sharia law.
The proposal by Zakir comes amid ongoing efforts to revive the Afghan peace process which stalled following the confirmation of Mullah Omar’s death last year.
The Taliban group has rejected to participate in direct peace talks as proposed by Quadrilateral Coordination Group (QCG) comprising of Afghanistan, United States, Pakistan and China.
