The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday that three soldiers were killed after terrorists opened fire on a police checkpoint in the general area of khutti in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Dera Ismail khan district.

The security personnel promptly propped off the area and closed off any exits, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.

After the special operation, the fleeing attackers were apprehended in the district’s Saggu region. Three of them were killed during the exchange of fire, and several heavy ammunitions were seized.

Meanwhile, during the exchange of fire, three Pakistani soldiers were killed, including Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal from Lodhran, Naik Muhammad Asad from Khanewal, and Sepoy Muhammad Essa from South Waziristan.

The statement also said, “The Pakistan Army remains determined to eradicate terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brace soldiers strengthen our resolve,” the statement added.

Recently, the militants, particularly Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), and other militant outlets, have increased their target attacks on Pakistani police officials, foreign nations, and the public.

As a result of intensified attacks by these terror outlets, Pakistan has scored the second ranking in terms of the number of deaths and target killing as per the Global Terrorism Index last week.
