The U.S is getting prepared for airstrike options to support the Afghanistan National Army, if the Taliban militants try to attack the major cities in Afghanistan, New York Times reported on Wednesday.
According to The Times, no decision has been made so far, but active talk are underway to look into possibility of support Afghanistan with the ‘U.S airstrikes’, if the Taliban intends to attack on the major cities including Kabul after the U.S forces withdrawal.
This comes as the U.S administration made a announcement to end its military involvement in Afghanistan by 11 Sep 2021.
Despite, ongoing peace negotiations between the Taliban and the Afghan republic representatives in Doha, there is no tangible result expected so far.
Violence and casualties to civilians have been dramatically increased throughout the country, as Taliban are gaining more territories.
