The Afghanistan Football Federation has announced that the national football team will play against India in the next round of AFC Asian Cup qualifications.
This is the Afghan national football team’s second match, which will take place today, Saturday, 11th of June, at 7:30 p.m.
In their inaugural encounter, the Afghan national football team was defeated 2-1 by Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong team scored two goals in less than three minutes, using the space created for them in the midfield and near the open field of the Afghan national football team, with “accurate strikes from outside the penalty area” into the national football team’s goal.
In the 80th minute, Farshad Noor scored the only goal for the Afghan national football team, a goal that might benefit the Afghan team in the qualifications round.
The match is going to be held at the Salt Lake Stadium in India’s Greater Kolkata, today at 7:30 in the evening.
In these competitions, the Afghan national team is in Group D, alongside teams from India, Hong Kong, and Cambodia.
