“COAS reiterated that path to regional peace and stability passes through Afghanistan. COAS said that regions develop as whole, not individual countries,” the Pakistani military said in a statement.

“He also assured that Pakistani territory is not allowed to be used against any other country and Pakistan expects the same in reciprocity. He said that collaborative approach and persistence is the answer to all challenges, for which Pakistan is ready to play its part,” the statement said.

This comes as the Afghan officials have long been expressing concerns regarding the presence of the leadership councils of the Taliban and Haqqani network in Pakistan and often blame the Haqqani leaders for planning and coordinating deadly attacks from their sanctuaries in Pakistan.
