Targeted attack, murder leaves 5 people dead: Afghanistan

Head of religious scholars’ council, Mawlawi Saifullah Safi was murdered in the Sayed-Khel district of Parwan province.

Safi was murdered close to a school called Saif-ur-Raman Shaheed high school in the district, a provincial official told the media.

Security officials so far did not comment on the incident.

No group including the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, reports indicate four members of one family were victims of manslaughter in Khanabad district.

The incident happened when unidentified gunmen attacked a residential house in Kunduz’s Khanabad district on Saturday night.

Hayatullah Amiri the district governor of Khanabad told media that unknown gunmen attacked a house killing four members of one family and wounding two others.

The incident occurred in the Bandar-e-Bukhari area of Khanabad district, a woman is also among the killed victims, perpetrators at large.

The motive behind the attack is still unknown, and an investigation is underway in relations to this matter.

In addition, two NDS personnel in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province were killed in a targeted attack by unidentified armed men at around 11:00 am local time, local officials told media.

Insecurity across the country brought much concerns and fears among the public.
