The Central Bank of Afghanistan under the Taliban administration stated that another package of $40 million has been received by the bank on Monday, in continuation of the international community’s humanitarian aid.

As part of the international community’s cash assistance, the Central Bank of Afghanistan, also known as Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB), announced on its official Twitter account that it had received the above-said amount of cash.

The DAB Taliban officials have expressed gratitude to the international community for their assistance and welcomed the inflow of foreign currency into Afghanistan.

While calling on the international community to continue and build on its engagement with the group, DAB Taliban officials requested that the aid be handled through the banking sector, using legal and accepted methods.

The newly delivered $40 million package, which has reportedly arrived at the DAB’s Kabul headquarters, is one of 5 cash assistance packages to have been received since the Taliban took over.

According to the records, $1 billion 273 million in foreign aid has been provided to Afghanistan from the time the Taliban took power up until the present.

The cash aid delivery occurs as Afghanistan’s people are dealing with one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world due to record-high levels of hunger, poverty, unemployment, and natural disasters as well as the political turmoil as an aggravating factor.
