The Taliban militants suffered heavy casualties during the ground operations and airstrikes conducted by the Afghan and US forces in the past twenty four hours.

The 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan Military said at least three militants were killed and four others were wounded during a clash between the Afghan forces and Taliban in Ajiristan district of Ghazni.

In a separate clash in Andar district of Ghazni, at least 7 militants were killed and at least 6 others were wounded, the Thunder Corps said, adding that a Ak-47 rifle and a motorcycle were also confiscated.

The Thunder Corps said at least two Afghan soldiers lost their lives during the clashes with the Taliban militants.

According to Thunder Corps, at least 9 Taliban militants were killed and at least 3 others were wounded during an operation of the Afghan forces in Moqor district of Ghazni.

In the meantime, Thunder Corps said the US forces also conducted airstrikes on Taliban positions in Qarabagh district.

The Thunder Corps says at least 8 militants were killed and at least 3 others were wounded during the same airstrikes.
