A Taliban sniper was killed during an operation of the Afghan armed forces in north-eastern Kapisa province of Afghanistan.

The 201st Silab Corps in a statement said the Taliban sniper was killed in Afghania Valley located in Nejrab district of Kapisa.

The statement further added that the operation was conducted last week with the support of the artillery unit and air forces.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the killing of the group’s sniper so far.

Kapisa is among the relatively volatile provinces in north-eastern parts of Afghanistan. Taliban militants are active in some of the remote districts of the province and often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institutions.
