Taliban Prevents Bulk Cash Smuggling from Afghanistan to Iran

Taliban Ministry of Defense announced that the Taliban forces in the Islam Qala border crossing in the Islam Qala district of the northwestern Afghan province of Herat have prevented a $250,000 cash smuggling attempt to Iran.

According to a statement from the Defense Ministry of the Taliban administration, released on Sunday, October 16, the Taliban forces have held a person in custody along with an amount of $250,000 that he was attempting to smuggle to Iran.

The amount of money was deftly concealed inside the car seat in an attempt to illegally transport the cash undeclared, according to a statement from the Taliban government’s Ministry of Defense.

The perpetrator, who was carrying stacks of dollar bills illegally across the Afghan border, has been arrested by the forces and handed over to the respective bodies for taking further prosecution.

125 cartons of opium that were intended to be smuggled to the United Arab Emirates were previously seized by Taliban forces from the Kabul International Airport in disguise as black raisins.

The border control authorities have also prevented truckloads of wheat and other materials from entering neighboring countries as well as the smuggling of military equipment from Afghanistan.
