The Afghan forces inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban militants during the operations in southern Kandahar province which kicked off four days ago.

The 205th Atal Corps in a statement said the security forces killed 27 militants during the operations in Shahwali Kot district.

The statement further added that the security forces also killed Bilal, one of the commanders of Taliban group.

Furthermore, the 205th Atal Corps said the security forces wounded 12 Taliban militants and destroyed 25 weapons, a Dshk heavy machine gun and vehicle.

The 205th Atal Corps also added that the security forces discovered and defused 13 improvised explosive devices during the operations.
