The Taliban militants have been accused of rape and murder of female ISIS militants amid ongoing infighting in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North, citing local sources, said in a statement the Taliban militants arrested, raped, and murdered three female ISIS militants in Darzab district.

The sources further added that 12 ISIS militants were killed and at least 33 others sustained injuries during the latest clash between the two sides in Darzab district.

According to the sources, the female ISIS militants were originally hailing from Uzbekistan and Chechnya.

At least three Taliban insurgents were also killed and at least eight others were wounded during the clashes, the sources added.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban and ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

The security situation in northern Jawzjan province has started to deteriorated during the recent years amid ongoing efforts by the Taliban and ISIS militants to expand their foothold in this province.

Jawzjan was considered among the relatively calm provinces in the northern parts of the country until the recent years.
