An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion killed at least 5 people including women and children in western Farah province.

The Provincial Police Headquarters said in a statement that the explosion targeted a civilian vehicle in the outskirts of Farah city on Sunday.

The statement further added that the Taliban militants had planted the IED in Kariz Sheikhan Village.

The Taliban group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
