Taliban office in Qatar closedAccording to reports Taliban group has closed its political office in Qatar following disputes over Taliban’s Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan sign and flag.

A Taliban official in Doha on Monday said negotiators of the Taliban group have stopped visiting the office after Qatari officials removed the Taliban’s white flag and the plaque inscribed with ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’.

Afghan president Hamid karzai termed the style in which the Taliban office was inaugurated on June 18 in Doha as an attempt to install a parallel government.

In the meantime officials in Qatar speaking on the condition of anonymity confirmed that that the Taliban office was temporarily closed.

The officials further added that it was not clear when the office will be reopened.
