Taliban Group agrees to open liaison office in Qatar

Taliban Group in Afghanistan for the first announced their agreement for the establishment of Taliban liaison office in Qatar in a bid to hold talks and reach for an agreement with the International Community.
Taliban group following a statement said, we have decided to open a liaison office in Qatar to hold talks with the International community, we have reached to an agreement with the Qatar government to have a liaison office in this country.
Taliban group has also urged for the release of their detainees from the Guantanamo detention cell in their statement.
In the meantime Taliban in their statement described peace talks as concerning which have been broadcasted by a number of medias and western officials.
A spokesman for Taliban group Zabiullah Mujahid confirmed the release of the statement by Taliban following a phone call to British Broadcastign Corporation Kabul office.
The statement did not mention Taliban’s peace talks with the Afghan government however US-Taliban peace talks have been confirmed in Taliban’s statement.
United States peace talks with the Taliban group has been for the first time confirmed by the Taliban group which shows that US-Taliban peace talks are in a critical condition and puts more momentum for the establishment of Taliban liaison office in Qatar.
This comes as Afghan President Hamid Karzai also welcomed establishment of Taliban liaison office in Qatar despite president Karzai opposed Taliban liaison office in this country earlier.
But Afghan president Hamid Karzai insisted that only Afghans should own the leadership of the peace talks with the Taliban group.
