Taliban gang-raped, shot a teenager dead in Jawzjan: Officials claim

Security sources in the north of the country stated that the Taliban gang-raped and shot a 16-year-old girl to death in Jawzjan province.

209^th Shaheen Corps in a released statement said the incident happened on Sunday in Darzab district of Jawzjan province.

According to the statement, Taliban militants abducted the young girl and her parents two months ago.

Residents of Qush Tapah and Darzab districts of Jawzjan have gathered in a rally to protest and staged demonstrations against the incident, the protesters demanded the release of the girl’s parents.

They also demanded that the Taliban should hand over the teenager’s body to them

Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.

Jawzjan Province is located in the north of Afghanistan and is one of the most insecure locations in the country as the Taliban has a large influence over the area.
