Taliban denies reshuffle in interim cabinet

Chief spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Zabiullah Mujahid denied reports over rearrangements in the interim cabinet adding no changes have been brought in the government structure.

“Rumors about change of the Prime Minister of the IEA made public by some media are untrue. No changes have been brought in the cabinet.” Reads the Tweet of Mujahid.

Earlier, Sky News Arabic reported that former first Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has been appointed as new Prime Minister of the interim government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan during a three-day cabinet meeting headed by supreme leader of the Taliban Mullah Hebtullah Akhundzada.

The cabinet meeting was held in Kandahar headed by the supreme leader for the first time since the Taliban takeover.

The Sky News reported that former acting Minister of Interior Affairs Sarajudin Haqqani has been appointed as first Deputy of Mullah Baradar.

It was also said that the Taliban reshuffle their cabinet so that they get recognized.
