
The Afghan forces killed two key Taliban commanders during an operation in Faryab province.
The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said Wednesday that the security forces jointly conducted the operation on Tuesday night.
The Special Forces of the Afghan military, intelligence agency and coalition forces had taken part in the operation.
The statement further added that the security forces killed Mullah Khal Mohammad, the commander in-charge of the prison of Taliban in Pashtun Kot.
The statement also added that the security forces killed Mullah Ezatullah, a key Taliban commander who was in charge of conducting explosions.
The 209th Shaheen Corps also added that the security forces 2 other accomplices of the two commanders and wounded 8 more.
The anti-government armed militants have not commented regarding the operation so far.
