
The Afghan forces killed a Taliban commanders and his two comrades by conducting a retaliatory raid in response to an attack which led to the murder of local soldiers.
The Nangarhar Governor’s Office in a statement said the Taliban commander, Bashar, killed two Afghan Local Army soldiers in Bati Kot district late on Friday night.
The statement further added that the Afghan forces conducted a retaliatory raid, killing Bashar and his two comrades.
The Taliban group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
This comes as numerous incidents involving clashes between the Afghan forces and Taliban militants have been reported in various provinces during the recent days.
The incidents took place amid ongoing efforts to find a negotiated political settlement to end the conflict.
