According to local security officials in north-eastern Badakhshan province, at last 10 Afghan police forces were killed or injured following Taliban militants attack.

The officials further added at least 8 Afghan police forces were killed and 2 others were injured after Taliban attacked a police check post at Wardaj district.

Provincial security chief Sakhidad Haidari said the clashes started on Tuesday evening and continued until late night.

Mr. Haidari confirmed at least 8 Afghan police were killed, 2 were injured and another service member was missing following the clashes.

He also said at least 6 Taliban militants were killed and 12 others were injured, however, Taliban militants claim 26 police forces were killed and 3 check posts along with 4 police vehicles were totally damaged.

In the meantime local security officials confirmed only 1 police vehicle was damaged following militants rocket attack.
