The Taliban group announced that the leadership of the group has decided to declared ceasefire during the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr during which no attack will be carried out on Afghan forces.

However, the Taliban says the fighter of the group will in respond to any aggression during the period of the ceasefire.

In the meantime, Taliban says the foreign forces are exempted from the ceasefire, emphasizing that the group will maintain attacks on foreign troops across the country.

According to a statement released by Taliban, the leadership of the group may also consider the release of the prisoners of war, provided that they will not return to the battlefield.

This comes as President Ghani on Thursday announced a ceasefire with the Taliban group and said no operations will be carried out against the fighters of the group starting from 27th of Ramadan to 5th day of Eid.
