According to local authorities in western Farah province of Afghanistan, Taliban militants abducted three construction workers in this province.
The workers were involved in a reconstruction project which was implemented by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Afghanistan (MRRD), in Posht-e-Rod district.
Local officials in Posht-e-Rod district said the workers were abducted by Taliban militants late Saturday evening, from Dukan village.
Posht-e-Rod district chief, Ghausuddin said there are no reports regarding the whereabouts of the abducted workers, despite local tribal elders have started negotiations with the Taliban regarding their freedom.
Taliban militants frequently kidnap construction workers from the western provinces of Afghanistan. At least four construction workers were abducted by Taliban militants on Herat-Badghis highway earlier in October.
Taliban militants also abducted and killed six employees of Rural Rehabilitation and Development ministry in Gulran district of Herat province late in August.
