Tajikistan and China deny military base adjacent with Afghanistan

Tajikistan’s interior ministry has denied construction of any military base on the country’s border with Afghanistan while China’s foreign ministry has also ruled out the possibility of a military base in central Asia.

Spokesperson of China’s foreign ministry Wang Wenbin though did not directly answer the question of constructing a military base in Tajikistan, denied having a military base in central Asia.

In the meantime, Tajikistan’s interior ministry in a statement said that they and China do not plan to do so.

Tajikistan meanwhile acknowledged that both countries will be carrying our military maneuvers on the Tajikistan border with Afghanistan.

Earlier, it was rumored that China intends to build a military base to prevent the potential pouring of terrorists to its soil.
