This comes as the United States, France, and Britain launched airstrikes against the Syrian regime in the early hours of Saturday morning.
In the meantime, reports indicate that Russia has called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council over the US-led strikes in Syria.
Iran has reacted at the airstrikes with the country’s foreign ministry saying the strikes against Syria by the US, UK and France are a “flagrant violation of international law”.
The US Military’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford has said a scientific research centre near Damascus, a storage facility and command post also near the capital and a chemical weapons storage facility near Homs were targeted during the airstrikes.
This comes as the current Syrian regime led by Bashar Al-Assad has been accused of using chemical weapons against the civilians in Douma.
According to reports, at least forty people have been killed in the latest chemical attack in Douma and several children are among those killed.
