An Afghan reporter staged a symbolic demonstration on Thursday to protest against the growing unemployment in the country.
The 1TV reporter Qiam Noori played the role of a beggar for two hours in one of the Kabul streets.
He said main motive behind his demonstration was to attract the attention of the government leaders regarding the catastrophe of growing unemployment in the country.
Qiam said his experience of acting as a beggar was unpleasant as he was mostly mocked by the people and expressed concerns regarding the thousands of Afghan youths who are graduating from higher education institutes but their future remains unknown due to the lack of employment.
He said the graduates are facing the issues of nepotism and can not easily find jobs in government and non-governmental organizations unless they do have connections.
According to Qiam, he is not sure if the symbolic demonstration will have any impact on the situation but he insisted that the step was taken to fulfill his social obligation.
He warned that the Afghan youths will face the same fate if the govrnment did not take immediate actions to provide employment opportunities.
