Syed Zafar Hashemi appointed as deputy spokesman to President Ghani

Syed Zafar hashemiSyed Zafar Hashemi assumed charged as deputy spokesman for President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday, the Presidential Palace said.

A statement released by Presidential Palace said Hashemi was appointed as deputy presidential spokesman following a decree by President Ghani.

Hashemi has previously served as TV presenter, reporter and editor in Voice of America in Washington.

He has also served as head of public relations in “Sstability” programme in the Ministry of Interior before he left for Washington.

According to President, Hashemi has been graduated from John Hopkins University by obtaining Masters degree in the field of public administration and completed his bachelors degree in the field of political science from the University of Maryland.

We have competitive and good people here in Afghanistan, bringing people from abroad means, discourage the ones who are here and negate their abilities.I hope that Ghani administration would look into this matter seriously and let the local resources be groomed and utilized rather than dragging people from abroad who have already occupied good jobs.
