Afghan National Army soldiers detained a suspected militant along with bomb-making materials following a joint military operation by NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in eastern Paktia province.
According to a press release issued by International Security Assistance Force, Afghan and coalition security force conducted an operation in search of a Haqqani network leader today.
The source further added, the leader is responsible for multiple attacks in Gardez province and directs insurgents in roadside bomb and complex attacks throughout the area.
Taliban militants and other armed militant groups normally used Improvised Explosive Device and roadside bombs as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and NATO-led International coalition security forces.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the operation of the NATO and Afghan troops operation in eastern Paktia province.
