A suicide bomber was shot dead by Afghan security forces before he manage to carry out an attack in southern Kandahar province.
According to local government officials, the incident took place around 6:30 local time in 3rd police district of Kandahar city.
The officials further added the suicide bomber was riding a motorcycle and was shot dead after he was recognized by the security forces.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
Kandahar is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
