The security forces killed a suicide bomber moments before he detonates his explosives to target a senior police officer in Kandahar city.
Kandahar Police Chief Gen. Tadin Khan Achakzai said the suicide bomber wanted to target the Police Chief of the 6th Police District of the city.
However, he said the security forces identified the suicide bomber and shot him dead before he detonates his explosives.
Meanwhile, Gen. Tadin Khan said the explosives of the suicide bomber went off after the security forces shot him dead, wounding a child.
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the incident so far.
