Afghan policeAccording to local authorities in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan, a suicide bomber was shot dead by Afghan police forces in this province on Sunday morning.

The officials further added that the incident took place in Tarinkowt city and the suspected suicide bomber was gunned down before he manage to reach to his target.

Provincial governor spokesman Abdullah Hemat confirming the report said that the suspected bomber was in Afghan national police uniform.

Mr. Hemat further added that the suicide bomber was looking to detonate his explosives in a branch of Kabul Bank where several Afghan police officers had gathered to collect their monthly salaries.

He said the suicide bomber was recognized by Afghan police forces and was shot dead after he refused police forces call to stop.
