136065522-1024x573According to local authorities in eastern Khost province of Afghanistan, at least four civilians were injured following a suicide bomb attack in this province.

The officials further added that the incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Mandozai district after a suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the NATO troops.

District chief for Mandozai, Mohammad Younus confirming the report said a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into the convoy of the US troops, leaving at least four civilians injured.

Mr. Younus further added that the foreign troops did not suffer any casualties following the attack which took place around 3pm local time, and only four civilians were injured.

Taliban group claimed responsibility behind the incident and said several NATO troops were killed or injured following the attack.

A spokesman for the Taliban group, Zabiullah Mujahid said two NATO tanks were destroyed and NATO troops were killed following the suicide blast. However, local government officials deny the Taliban group claims.
