A would-be suicide bomber was apprehended by the Afghan national security forces before he manage to carry out a suicide attack in Helmand province.
Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), said the would-be bomber was arrested by police forces in Nad-e-Ali district.
He said a vehicle packed with explosives was confiscated by the Afghan security forces.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in its various districts and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
At least four people were killed and five others were injured following a suicide car bomb attack in Helmand province late on Monday afternoon.
The local government officials said the suicide bomber detonated a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive (VBIED) near a police check post.
