A suicide bomber was arrested before the suspected bomber manage to hit its target in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, security officials announced on Monday.
Afghan intelligence agency — national directorate of security (NDS) said a suspected suicide bomber and a Taliban leader was arrested by Afghan security forces in this province.
NDS media department officiasl said the suicide bomber was looking to carry out attack in a busy market in Ghani Khel district and was arrested by security forces.
The officials also added the Taliban leader arrested by Afghan security forces used to carry out insurgency activities and was arrested in Bati Kot district.
Afghan security forces also seized some weapons and explosives from the detained Taliban leader who was controlling a group of five militants in eastern Nangarhar province.
Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
