A suicide attacker was among seven insurgents killed by security forces in past 48 hours across the country, statement issued Saturday morning by security agencies stated.
The statement issued by the Ministry of Interior states that police killed a suicide attacker before he could reach to his target in Wazir Manda area of Nahr-i- Saraj District in restive Helmand province where.
Also, a statement issued by the media office of Maidan Wardak province states that four Taliban including a senior commander of the group were killed during security operation in Jalriz District last night.
The statement adds that Mullah Wazir alias Mullah Farid was the military commander of Taliban for Jalriz District who got killed along with three of his companions in the operation.
Three other insurgents were also wounded in the operation, the statement states.
The statement further states that security forces seized a vehicle laden with explosives in Abdul Mohayoudin area of Jaghato District during a separate operation last night.
There were 100 kilo grams of explosive materials in the vehicle, the statement states.
Also, a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense states that two insurgents were killed, three wounded and five suspects arrested during Afghan National Army operations in Nangarhar, Helmand and Sar-i-Pul province in past 48 hours.
182 different types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also discovered and defused by the military, the statement adds.
