The Afghan security forces have thwarted a plot by the anti-government armed militants to carry out a suicide attack in Kabul city.
The Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), said a suicide bomber was arrested by the Special Forces of the Afghan intelligence before he manages to carry out an attack in the city.
A statement by NDS stated that the would-be suicide bomber was arrested during an operation conducted in Jabal Siraj district of Parwan province.
The statement further added that the detained individual has confessed that he was recruited by the Taliban leader Mawlavi Ahmad around a month ago in Dashti Archi district of Kunduz.
He also confessed that he was prepared for a suicide attack in Kabul city after his recruitment in Sufi village.
According to NDS, the detained individual has been identified as Khudai Nazar and was arrested based on intelligence tip off and shortly after he was sent to Tagab district of Kapisa to collect the materials and equipment for the suicide attack.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.
