A suicide attack in Kabul city killed 22 civilians and wounded at least 38 others.

The security officials confirmed that the explosion but did not elaborate further regarding the casualties.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the suicide bomber detonated his explosives on a roadside close to Massoud Square.

The statement further added that the attack killed 22 civilians and wounded at least 38 others.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Interior said the explosion also killed or wounded several women and children.

The Taliban group claimed responsibility for the attack.
