Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $1 billion in global box office earnings just six days after release, becoming the second-fastest film in history to reach the milestone, behind Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.

According to Hindustan Times, citing global box office figures, the Tom Holland-led Marvel film had earned more than $1.05 billion worldwide by Monday, August 5, 2026. The movie generated approximately $360 million in North America and $572 million from international markets during its opening period.

The film reached the billion-dollar mark faster than nearly every movie in history, with only Avengers: Endgame, which achieved the milestone in five days in 2019, reaching the target sooner.

Brand New Day recorded a major opening across key markets, including early releases in countries such as Belgium and India. On its sixth day in cinemas, the film added about $47 million in North America and $73 million internationally, pushing its worldwide total beyond the $1 billion mark.

Industry analysts say the rapid success of billion-dollar films reflects the continued commercial strength of major entertainment franchises, particularly those connected to established cinematic universes.

Brand New Day among a select group of films to surpass $1 billion globally. Before modern blockbuster franchises dominated the market, reaching the milestone was considered rare, with Titanic becoming the first film to cross $1 billion in 1997 after 74 days in cinemas.

The film’s performance has been supported by its connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its returning cast, including Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. The movie also features appearances by Mark Ruffalo, Jon Bernthal and Sadie Sink.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows Peter Parker as he navigates life after the world forgets his identity as Spider-Man. The story explores his isolation, new challenges and his continued responsibility to protect others.

The latest box office milestone adds another major success to Marvel’s catalogue and highlights the continued global appeal of superhero franchises despite increasing competition from streaming platforms and changing audience habits.

With strong early ticket sales, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to continue increasing its worldwide earnings and could become one of the highest-grossing films of 2026.
