The Afghan Special Forces have fully cleared the Kunduz city of Taliban presence by killing at least 56 militants.
The National Defense and Security Institutions said in a statement that the Special Forces of 333rd and 905th Units of the National Directorate of Security conducted the clearance operations on Saturday evening.
The statement further added that the security forces also conducted airstrikes in Zakhil Kali, Ali Khel, Kasani, Khakni and Qahwa Khana areas of Kunduz city which inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban militants.
Meanwhile, the National Defense and Security institutions said the attack on Kunduz city including last evening’s suicide bombing claimed the lives of 20 security personnel.
The statement by the defense and security institutions also added that 85 people including some security personnel have sustained injuries.
