A heavy explosion rocked southern Zabul province of Afghanistan on Monday.
According to local authorities the incident took place in the center of Zabul province after a number of suicide bombers attacked the provincial council.
Provincial security chief Ghulam Jelani confirming the report said, around six suicide bombers entered the provincial council compound and were shot dead by Afghan security forces.
In the meantime local residents and eye witnesses in the area said that clashes took place near the provincial security compound and provincial council compound.
Deputy provincial governor Mohammad Jan Rasolyar said at least 18 people including Afghan police officers were injured in today’s incident.
No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the attack.
