At least six suicide bombers were arrested in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan, local officials said Wednesday.
The officials further added that the suicide bombers were looking to carry out suicide attack in Aino Meena city, which is one of the famous cities of Kandahar province.
The suicide bombers were arrested during a military operation conducted by Kandahar intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
In the meantime, Kandahar provincial government media office following a statement said the detained suicide bombers were recognized as Mahmood Jan, Matifullah, Dawlat, Faal Mohammad, Abdul Ghafar and Hekmatullah.
Local officials blamed the spy agencies of Pakistan for coordinating the suicide attack which was foiled by Afghan intelligence operatives.
This comes as the anti-government armed militants carried out a suicide attack in Aino Meena city earlier last year which left at least nine people dead and nearly 50 others injured.
The high level government officials are residing in Aino Meena city.
