The Indian and Pakistani forces resumed shelling late on Friday night hours after a captured Indian pilot was released by Pakistan.

According to authorities, the latest shelling in Kashmir has claimed the lives of at least seven people including two Pakistani soldiers while several others have sustained injuries.

At least three people including two siblings and their mother were killed and the father of the family was wounded after a shell impacted on their home in Poonch region in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Meanwhile, reports emerging from the Pakistan-administered Kashmir suggest that a man and a boy were killed while another man was wounded during the shelling by the Indian forces.

The Pakistani military has also confirmed that two of its soldiers have been killed in the shelling by the Indian forces.

According to a statement released by Pakistani Military, the two soldiers were killed in Nakiyal in an “exchange of fire while targeting Indian posts undertaking firing on civilian population.”
