Head of the opposition coalition of Imran Khan and a member of the Muslim League, Shahbaz Sharif won a majority of votes in Parliament and was elected as prime minister of the country on Monday, April 11, 2022.
The Brother of former three-tenure Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif got 174 votes in the 342-seat assembly of the country.
Shahbaz Sharif will now form a government that will remain in place until August 2023, when general elections for a new Premier take place.
Shahbaz Sharif who was leading the opposition against Imran khan played a key role in ousting Khan.
He is elected after Imran Khan was ousted and PTI boycotted the national assembly.
Khan was accused of mismanagement of the country’s economic situation but the former PM claimed to have been the victim of a foreign conspiracy.

Imran Khan has warned not to recognize the upcoming “imported” government in Pakistan.
