The Indian film star and owner of Kolkata Knight Riders Shah Rukh Khan hailed his players despite losing the semi-finals of the Indian Premier League to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Khan posted a statement online in his social media accounts and hailed the Kolkata Knight Riders as an ‘awesome team’.

Expressing happiness regarding the end of his team’s elimination from the finals of IPL, Khan thanked his players for entertainment and many moments of glory.

This comes as Sunrisers eliminated Kolkata Knight Riders during the semi-finals match on Friday night with Afghan spin sensation Rashid Khan being hailed as the game changer.

Rashid Khan performed in an outstanding way in both bowling and batting as well as fielding in last night’s match to help secure an important victory for his team.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad started to lose key wickets during the crucial overs of the game after Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first.

However, Rashid Khan managed to hit 4 sixes and 2 fours to score 34 runs from just 10 balls and help his team set a satisfactory target of 175 runs after losing 7 wickets. He was the highest scorer in the lower order after the key batsmen Saha and Dhawan scored 35 and 34 runs only.

He also performed well on the bowling side and managed to take three key wickets of Kolkata Knight Riders from 4 overs and against 19 runs only.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad in the end managed to win the game by 13 runs after Kolkata Knight Riders failed to chase the given target and by scoring 160 runs only.
