Separate explosions in northern AfghanistanSeparate explosions killed or injured at least 16 people in northern Jawzjan and Kunduz provinces of Afghanistan on Thursday, local officials said.

At least two people including an AFghan police officer and a civilian were killed, and 10 others were injured in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan after an explosion took place in Aqcha district.

District governor for Aqcha Asadullah Bahrami confirming the report said the incident took place after a rickshaw packed with explosives went off near a police vehicle, killing an Afghan police along with a civilian.

He said at least ten others including four police officers and six civlians were injured following the blast.

In a separate explosion in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan left an Afghan security official dead and three civilians injured, provincial police chief Khalil Andarabi said.

He said the incident took place after explosives in a civilian vehicle went off.

No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incidents.
