A senior intelligence official was killed following an explosion in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.
According to the local government officials, the incident took place in Aqcha district on Thursday morning.
Provincial police spokesman, Abdul Manan Raufi said another intelligence operative was killed following the incident.
Raufi further added that the vehicle of Aqcha district intelligence director struck with an improvised explosive device (IED).
He said five intelligence operatives were also injured following the explosion.
Jawzjan is a relatively volatile province in northern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are active in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities.
The Taliban militants group claimed responsibility behind the attack.
